1. Services

Yak Services provides professional carpet cleaning services in Sydney and removal/moving services in Darwin. By booking our services, you agree to these terms and conditions.

2. Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes are estimates based on information provided by the customer.
  • Final pricing may vary if the actual job scope differs from the quoted scope.
  • Prices include GST unless otherwise stated.
  • Additional charges may apply for difficult access, excess items, or extended travel to remote areas.

3. Bookings and Cancellations

Carpet Cleaning (Sydney)

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee.
  • We require access to power and water at the service location.
  • Furniture must be cleared from areas to be cleaned, or additional fees may apply for furniture moving.

Removal Services (Darwin)

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled move may incur a cancellation fee.
  • Items must be packed and ready unless packing services have been booked.
  • We reserve the right to refuse transport of hazardous, illegal, or prohibited items.

4. Payment Terms

  • Payment is due upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed.
  • We accept cash, bank transfer, and major credit/debit cards.
  • For larger jobs, a deposit may be required at the time of booking.
  • Outstanding invoices may incur late payment fees after 14 days.

5. Insurance and Liability

Yak Services holds public liability insurance and transit insurance (for removal services).

  • We take reasonable care with your property, but are not liable for pre-existing damage or fragile items not disclosed.
  • Claims for damage must be reported within 24 hours of service completion.
  • Our liability is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or replacement, up to the value of our insurance coverage.
  • We are not responsible for items of extraordinary value unless declared and agreed in writing before the service.

6. Carpet Cleaning Specific Terms

  • Results may vary depending on carpet age, material, and stain type.
  • Some stains (e.g., bleach, permanent dye, old pet stains) may not be fully removable.
  • Carpets will be damp after cleaning and typically dry within 2-4 hours depending on ventilation.
  • We are not responsible for carpet shrinkage, color bleeding, or damage to pre-weakened carpet fibres.

7. Removal Services Specific Terms

  • Customers must ensure clear access at both pickup and delivery locations.
  • We do not disassemble or reassemble furniture unless specifically agreed.
  • Waiting time beyond 15 minutes due to customer delays may be charged at the hourly rate.
  • Storage services are not provided unless separately arranged.

8. Satisfaction Guarantee

We stand behind our work. If you are not satisfied with our service, contact us within 48 hours and we will return to address the issue at no additional charge. If we cannot resolve the issue to your reasonable satisfaction, we will provide a partial or full refund at our discretion.

9. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information about the job scope and property access.
  • Ensure someone over 18 is present at the service location.
  • Secure pets and valuables during the service.
  • Disclose any hazards, restricted areas, or special requirements.

10. Disputes

Any disputes will first be addressed through direct communication. If unresolved, disputes will be subject to the laws of the relevant Australian state (NSW for Sydney services, NT for Darwin services) and the jurisdiction of local courts.
